The Iruin Astiazaran cider house has achieved in this 2018 to produce the best cider since Juan Inaxio Astiazaran works in the cider house of Zubieta. This has been confirmed by his son and current owner, Ion Astiazaran, in his weekly collaboration with the Gure Kasa program of ETB-1. Astiazaran (son) wanted to give the great news congratulating his father in the year in which he also announced that he is retiring.
In previous weeks Ion Astiazaran interviewed owners of other cider houses in Gipuzkoa, but this time, he has had to interview his predecessor, his own father. In the interview, which can be seen in the video, Juan Inaxio Astiazaran reviews the history of the cider house and the current operation system, without forgetting to mention that Iruin was the pioneer implementing the "cider menu" at a fixed price.
In the cider house of Zubieta, located next to Usurbil, we offer as a second course the option of choosing between fried cod or ajoarriero cod, a characteristic of Iruin and that can´t be found in other cider houses in Gipuzkoa.
The Astiazaran family has been producing cider for more than 100 years. The proper functioning of the sagardotegi is due to the good raw material and the fantastic human team.
