The Iruin cider house, located in the municipality of Usurbil, has witnessed the presentation of the new brand “Sagarraren bihotza, sagardoaren kultura” (The heart of the Apple, the culture of cider), which several insitutions have created to put together synergies and promote the culture of apples and cider.
The Town Hall of Usurbil, the University of Cider and the Natural Cider Association of Gipuzkoa are just some of the organizations that have decided to come together to coordinate and disseminate the actions who that are organizated from the Gipuzkoan municipality around the cider sector. In the presentation, Xabier Arregi, Mayor of Usurbil, express that, for centuries “Apple and cider have been the way of live of the people of the area, a very important heritage”.
The presentation of the new brand comes hand with hand with the program of events related to cider for the coming months and will take place in Usurbil and Zubieta. Among them, highlights the celebration of the sixth edition of “Sagastiak Loretan”. The event, whose objective is the speading of the wealth of the apple trees, welcomed the autumn with a group of people who made a parade for Zubieta. During the walk, Oihana Iguaran and Andoni Egaña recited a series of verses until they reached the Iruin cider house, where they finished with an aperitif.
